According to statistics, in the first quarter of 2024, EU tourist accommodations had 452.7 million overnight stays, a 6.6% increase over the previous year, with Luxembourg, Cyprus, Malta, and Croatia leading the growth.

The latest data from Eurostat reveals that during the first quarter of 2024, EU tourist accommodations saw a total of 452.7 million overnight stays. This figure represents an increase of 27.8 million nights, or a growth of 6.6%, compared to the same period in the previous year. Positive growth was reported across all EU nations for which data was available, when compared to the first quarter of 2023. The most significant growth was observed in Luxembourg (24.5%), Cyprus (21.4%), Malta (19.7%), and Croatia (19.7%). The number of overnight stays in January, February, and March of 2024 surpassed those of the corresponding months in the pre-pandemic year of 2019. Specifically, the first quarter of 2024 saw an increase of 24.5 million nights, or 5.7%, compared to the first quarter of 2019, indicating a positive trend in the industry.
