The UNWTO World Tourism Barometer report, published in January 2025, highlights that global tourism nearly reached pre-pandemic levels in 2024, with international arrivals at 98% of 2019 figures, driven by strong demand in Europe and the Middle East. Global tourism recovered to 99% of pre-COVID levels in 2024, with 1.4 billion international tourists, largely due to robust growth in the Middle East. This underscores the significant recovery and ongoing growth in the tourism sector post-pandemic.
