According to Eurostat article, published in November, 2024, the EU produced 9.7 million bicycles in 2023, marking a significant 24% decrease from the 12.7 million produced in 2022. Portugal, Romania, and Italy were the top producers in the EU, contributing substantially to the total production. Despite the decline, the EU continues to emphasize the importance of cycling as a sustainable mode of transport, aiming to support and expand cycling infrastructure and initiatives across member states.
