According to a Eurostat article published in September 2024, from April to June 2024, tourists spent 208.8 million nights in short-stay accommodation across the EU, booked through four major online platforms (Airbnb, Booking, Tripadvisor, and Expedia) that share data with Eurostat. This represents a 16.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This growth builds on the significant increases seen in previous years, with Q2 guest nights already surpassing pre-COVID-19 levels in 2022.
