The Eurostat dashboard reveals that the peak season for passenger air travel in the European Union typically occurs in July and August, coinciding with the highest number of arrivals and overnight stays at tourist accommodations. In 2023, the demand for passenger flights in the EU had not yet fully rebounded from the pandemic, reaching only 95.2% of the highest recorded figure in August 2019 by August 2023. However, the tourism accommodation sector has seen a return to pre-pandemic levels, signaling a partial recovery of the industry. The Eurostat public statistical dashboard, which is freely accessible, offers visualized data on passenger and commercial air travel, as well as arrivals and overnight stays at tourist accommodations and electricity consumption by end-users in the EU and by individual countries.
