In the first five months of 2024, Finland saw 1.8 million trips, generating a total expenditure of EUR 1.5 billion. This averages to EUR 827 per trip and EUR 84 per day. The carbon footprint for these trips amounted to 798,500 tons of CO2, which breaks down to 441 kg CO2 per trip and 45 kg CO2 per day. Approximately 9.0% of these trips were organized through holiday reservation services, primarily for leisure purposes.
