The National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Moldova provides data on the departures of Moldovan visitors abroad by destination country for the period from 1992 to 2024. In 2024, outbound travel reached a record high of 396,933 departures—the highest since data collection began. This represents a 27.8% increase compared to the pre-pandemic figure of 310,649 in 2019, indicating a strong recovery in international travel.

Top destinations included Turkey (182,342 departures), Bulgaria (75,581), Egypt (47,974), and Italy (3,683). Significant growth was also observed in travel to Ukraine, Cyprus, and Germany.
