In 2023, Slovak residents took a total of 11.0 million trips, with the majority (64.2%) using motor vehicles. This preference for motor vehicles remained consistent for both domestic and international trips. Sustainable travel options, such as rail transport, accounted for 12.6% of domestic trips and 8.6% of international trips. Detailed data is available from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic’s publicly accessible and automatically updated database, which allows for exploration of trips by main mode of transport.
