As of 2023, the share of renewables in transport in Europe increased to 10.8%. Sweden surpassed the 2030 target with a 33.7% share, according to Eurostat data.

According to Eurostat, the share of renewables in transport in Europe rose to 10.8% in 2023, up from 9.6% in 2022. Despite this 1.2 percentage point increase, it remains 18.2 percentage points below the 2030 target of 29%. Among EU countries, Sweden leads with a 33.7% share, making it the only country to have already achieved the 2030 target.
