During the peak tourist season in August 2023, Greece ranked fourth among six countries in terms of tourism revenue, bringing in EUR 4.3 billion. Spain led the group with a substantial EUR 10.8 billion, while Cyprus earned the least, with EUR 483 million. This pattern mirrors the trend from August 2019, where Spain also topped the list with EUR 9.4 billion in tourism income, Greece maintained the fourth position with EUR 4.1 billion, and Cyprus was again at the bottom with EUR 432 million. These figures suggest a consistent preference among tourists for certain destinations and their revenue-generating potential. More detailed data can be found in the Greek Tourism Analytics Dashboard (GTAD) by the Institute of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (INSETE), which is publicly accessible and customizable.
