According to statistics, in May 2024, the Netherlands recorded 16.0 million overnight stays, a 5.9% increase from the previous year and a significant 51.6% rise compared to May 2019, with domestic tourists contributing over 62.6% of the total.

In May 2024, the Netherlands recorded 16.0 million overnight stays, marking a 5.9% increase from the previous year and a significant 51.6% rise compared to May 2019, before the pandemic. Domestic tourists accounted for the majority of these stays, contributing over 62.6% of the total. Leisure accommodations were the most popular, making up 62.3% of the nights spent, while hotels, boarding houses, and youth hostels comprised the remaining 37.7%. This data reflects a consistent preference for certain types of accommodations and tourism activities in the Netherlands, similar to trends observed before the pandemic.
