In the first four months of 2024, according to statistics, Slovakia welcomed over 1.6 million tourists, marking a 2.3% rise from the same period in 2023 but a 6.1% drop from 2019, with 36.3% of the tourists being foreigners, primarily from the Czech Republic, Poland, and Germany.

The most recent figures from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic reveal that in the first four months of 2024, Slovakia received over 1.6 million tourists, marking a 2.3% increase compared to the same period in 2023. However, this figure represents a 6.1% decrease from 2019. Among these tourists, 36.3% were foreigners.  Among the foreign tourists, a third were from Czech Republic, while Poland and Germany took the second and third place with shares of 16.9% and 8.2%, respectively. Foreign travel by nationality was less diversified in 2023, where tourists from Czech Republic accounted for more than 34.1% of total 2.1 million foreign tourists. The Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic offers freely accessible detailed data through its public statistical database, allowing users to select indicators for analysis and explore Slovakia’s tourism data.
