The European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) has announced a new wave of Horizon Europe calls under Cluster 1 ‘Health’, with a submission deadline set for 16 September 2025. These calls support projects tackling major health challenges through cutting-edge research and innovation.
Priority topics span a wide range – from the impacts of micro- and nanoplastics and pollution on human health to AI-powered healthcare solutions and new treatments for infectious diseases. Other focus areas include mental health, intellectual disabilities, non-communicable diseases, cell and gene therapies, pandemic preparedness, and advanced medical device development.
This funding round reinforces the EU’s commitment to strengthening healthcare systems, accelerating biotech innovation, and addressing under-researched health conditions. It also supports the development of sustainable, patient-centric solutions across Europe, in line with the objectives of Horizon Europe’s Cluster 1: improving citizens’ health and well-being at every stage of life.
Recordings from the recent Info Day held on 22 May are available online (https://research-innovation-community.ec.europa.eu/events/3F0n7H46ft6PlJqQPaRmIt/programme), offering detailed guidance for potential applicants. These calls represent a key opportunity for researchers, healthcare providers, and industry innovators to help shape the future of health in Europe.
