The European Commission Sustainable EU Tourism Webinar, held on April 18, 2024, focused on shaping the future of tourism in Europe by promoting sustainability, resilience, and digital transformation. The project, running from December 2023 to November 2025, aims to drive sustainable and resilient tourism aligned with the Transition Pathway for Tourism. It targets Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) in NUTS 2 and NUTS 3 regions, aiming to recognize key challenges, gather best practices, and establish collaborations among destinations facing similar issues. The webinar emphasized the importance of a greener, more digital, and resilient tourism ecosystem, highlighting the EU’s efforts to help the tourism industry recover from COVID-19 and prepare for future crises through sustainable practices and collaboration.
