On 27–28 September 2023, the Directorate-General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM) and the OECD hosted a workshop titled “Data Sharing, Governance, and Integration” through the TAIEX instrument. The resulting 2024 report documents the insights and discussions from the five sessions led by global industry experts. These sessions focused on: enhancing tourism decision-making through data sharing; improving data governance with better timeliness and granularity; managing the integration of diverse tourism data sets; addressing gaps in tourism data with data hubs and spaces; and developing foundational digital infrastructure for data sharing platforms.

The workshop facilitated the exchange of knowledge and best practices on data sharing and integration, aiming to enhance evidence-based decision-making for policy and businesses, ultimately supporting a more sustainable, resilient, and digital tourism ecosystem.
