The Network of European Museum Organisations (NEMO) held the European Museum Conference 2023 in Lahti, Finland, from 19-21 November 2023, focusing on how museums can contribute to climate action and a sustainable future. The conference's second panel, moderated by Karen Jagodin from the Vabamu Museum of Occupations and Freedom, featured presentations by Stefan Simon of the Rathgen Research Laboratory on climate control trends, Łukasz Bratasz of the Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry and the Polish Academy of Sciences on responsible energy use, and Teemu Kirjonen of the Åbo Akademi University Foundation – Sibelius Museum, Ett Hem & Casa Haartman on organisational transformation and carbon neutrality.
