Basics of textile technology: Learn and understand the interrelationship of the textile value chain
Our training program “Basics of Textile Technology” offers a comprehensive introduction to the textile value chain. Participants gain a clear understanding of the interrelationships within the textile production process, from raw materials to finished components. The seminar highlights how material and yarn parameters influence textile surfaces and demonstrates the added value created through textile finishing.
The course covers fundamental knowledge of both natural and man-made fibres, essential textile terminology, key products, and core processes. Practical insights are provided through machine and process demonstrations in the technical centre and laboratory of the Institute of Textile Technology at RWTH Aachen University.
To enhance learning outcomes, the training incorporates interactive sessions, group work, and hands-on workshops. Theoretical content is supplemented with engaging media and tactile teaching aids that make complex topics more accessible. Participants receive comprehensive handouts, exercise sheets, and recommendations for further specialised literature.
Language of this event is German.
