The 10th Émergence des Entreprises Sociales en Europe (EMES) International Research Conference on social enterprise will take place from 3-7 November 2025 in the Netherlands. This edition is uniquely structured across two cities: the initial sessions (3-5 November) at Erasmus University Rotterdam and the concluding sessions (5-7 November) at Utrecht University.

This biennial conference is the world’s largest academic gathering dedicated to social enterprise, social entrepreneurship, and social innovation research. While EMES celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2022, this will be the 10th edition of the conference series, reflecting its long-standing role in advancing research and practice in the field.

The 2025 edition, themed ‘Scaling Through Communities: The Role of Social Entrepreneurs and Social Enterprises in Boosting Societal Transitions,’ will focus on how social enterprises can amplify their impact through community-driven strategies. Participants will engage in discussions on cooperative models, governance, sustainability, and policy frameworks, with opportunities to exchange insights and collaborate on strengthening the global social economy.

Registration details and the full agenda will be released soon. For updates and participation details, visit the EMES website
