The Cities Forum is the European Commission's flagship event for urban matters, taking place every two years in one European city. It is co-organised by the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy and the European Urban Initiative. In this physical meeting, cities, regions, umbrella organisations and NGOs have the opportunity to share knowledge, learn about best practices, and discuss how to bring forward innovative and sustainable urban development.
The next edition of the Cities Forum is approaching. It will take place between 17 and 19 June 2025 in Krakow, Poland. This event will focus on discussing how to deliver sustainable and integrated urban development, promoting multi-level governance cooperation, and jointly reflecting on the policy agenda for cities in the European Union. It will also highlight EU initiatives and successful approaches supported by the EU Cohesion Policy, which is investing over EUR 24 billion in integrated development strategies for the 2021–2027 programming period.
This will be an opportunity to meet local authorities, representatives from managing authorities, EU-wide associations, as well as national and regional authorities involved in EU urban initiatives—policy makers, urban practitioners, city officials, and advocates for sustainable urban living. The event will host up to 800 participants from across Europe.
The agenda will address some of the most pressing challenges cities face today, such as housing, digital transformation, social inclusion, and urban mobility.
The official language of the event is English. For more information and to register, please follow this link.
