Cooperatives and social economy leaders will gather this 27-28 October in Torres Vedras, Portugal, for the 2025 Global Innovation Coop Summit (GICS). Held during the United Nations’ International Year of Cooperatives, the summit arrives at a time when communities everywhere are seeking fresh answers to old problems.

Under the theme “Facing the Tipping Points”, this year’s edition invites practitioners to reflect on how cooperatives can respond more boldly to today’s interconnected crises: from climate instability to rising inequality and the erosion of social economies.

With sessions focused on rebuilding trust, acting on values, and transforming work, GICS 2025 is designed as a space to connect, share what is working, and build momentum for change that sticks.
