EIT Urban Mobility has announced its Strategic Innovation Open Call, aimed at supporting high-impact innovations that advance urban mobility and align with EU policy objectives relating to competitiveness, decarbonisation, digitalisation, and the equitable transformation of urban transport. The initiative seeks solutions that accelerate the transition towards sustainable mobility across European cities, focusing on five priority areas:

  • Urban logistics
  • Public transport
  • Mobility data management
  • Transport electrification and alternative fuels
  • Health and mobility

Applicants must form consortia comprising at least two independent legal entities from different EU Member States or Horizon Europe-associated countries. The total indicative funding available for the 2026–2028 period is EUR 60 million. For the first submission cut-off, EUR 9 million is available, with individual projects eligible for up to EUR 2 million, covering up to 65% of eligible costs.

Preference will be given to market-oriented proposals with strong scalability and impact potential. The call remains open until 31 December 2028, with evaluations conducted periodically—typically once or twice per year. The first submission deadline is 23 September 2025.
