The European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) has launched a new call for proposals to promote a sustainable blue economy in Europe. Open until 18 February 2025, submissions must come from a consortium that includes a balanced mix of public, private, academic/research, civil society, NGOs, coastal communities, and local partnerships.

Proposals should address priorities such as decarbonisation, energy transition, sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, the circular blue economy, coastal resilience, and marine litter prevention. The call also seeks innovative solutions in areas like new aquaculture forms (including algae farming), sustainable food systems, and green coastal and maritime tourism.

With a budget of €5.7 million, the call focuses on two main topics, and each project must address only one of these topics, detailed in the attached link.

#Cross-regional cooperation #Green transition #Biodiversity #Circular tourism economy
