The Slovak Ministry of Investment has launched the fifth call for proposals under the Interreg Slovakia–Austria 2021–2027 programme, offering EUR 48.9 million in EU funding to support cross-border projects in areas such as education, tourism, innovation and environmental protection. Applications are open until 30 September 2025.

The Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic (MIRDI SR) has announced the fifth call for project proposals under the Interreg Slovakia–Austria 2021–2027 programme. This call aims to strengthen cross-border cooperation in key areas such as education, healthcare, culture, sustainable tourism, civic engagement, environmental protection, climate adaptation, and innovation — all with the goal of fostering a smarter, greener, more social, and better-connected SK-AT border region.
The call is structured around four main priorities:
- A more competitive and smarter SK-AT border region
- A greener SK-AT border region
- A more social SK-AT border region
- A better cooperating SK-AT border region
Eligible applicants include public institutions, NGOs, SMEs, research centres, educational organisations, and private entities from both Slovakia and Austria.
A total of EUR 48.9 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is available to co-finance projects across all four priorities, with funding rates of up to 80%. For projects specifically related to tourism, a dedicated allocation of EUR 5.5 million is available.
Applications must be submitted by 30 September 2025 (The original piece available only in German).
