In February 2025, the Government of Portugal launched the Growing with Tourism Support Programme, allocating EUR 30 million to support projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the qualification and sustainable development of various regions. This programme aims to boost Portugal's tourism competitiveness, promote smart management of cities and regions, and foster social innovation projects, all to strengthen the role of tourism as a driver of social cohesion and economic growth. Eligible applicants include public entities, private non-profit organisations, and micro, small, or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from across the national territory, including the autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores.
