The European Commission has announced a call for proposals under the Pilot Projects & Preparatory Actions (PPPA) programme, aiming to boost the tourism sector's capabilities through enhanced data management and sharing. This initiative focuses on:
- Developing guidelines for participation and use of the D3Hub and the future common European tourism data space
- Supporting upskilling and training for Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)
- Ensuring synergies with existing EU-level measures, including policy initiatives, tools, and actions
- Encouraging better understanding and uptake of EU initiatives in tourism digitalisation
Proposals must be submitted by a consortium of 3-7 applicants from 3-5 different EU countries, including at least one research or training institution, one DMO, and one PR agency.
