The European Investment Bank (EIB), in partnership with Romania’s Regional Development Agencies, launched the Multiregional Investment Platform to support energy efficiency and infrastructure development under the European Regional Development Fund for 2021–2027. The initiative aims to reduce energy consumption and improve living standards through investments in housing, public buildings, business, and tourism infrastructure.Eligible applicants include owners of single-family houses, local and central public authorities, public universities, and entities developing business incubators or industrial parks. The total fund managed by the EIB amounts to €400 million, offering preferential loans combined with grants, with energy efficiency improvements of at least 30–60% required depending on the region and project type.
