The EU Ecolabel has surpassed 102 000 certified products and services across Europe – a 3 % increase in one year – while awarded licences have risen by 5 %, reaching 3 248. This growth underscores the label’s increasing influence in driving sustainability, innovation, and competitiveness.
With 57 % of licence holders being SMEs, the label supports companies of all sizes, helping them meet rising demand from consumers and buyers for verified green products. Certification is most widespread in Italy, Spain, France, and Germany, supported by robust national systems.
Tourist accommodation services account for 25 % of all licences, while paints and varnishes lead by product volume with nearly 37 000 certified items. New sectors are also emerging, such as pet care and updated absorbent hygiene products, reflecting the label’s evolving reach.
Recognised globally and backed by governments, NGOs, and major platforms, the EU Ecolabel is more than a mark of environmental quality – it’s a strategic business asset in the transition to a greener economy.
