To reduce the amount of energy needed to produce ethyl lactate, Corbion developed a new production process based on the use of a catalyst (which we do not use at this moment) and is exploring more heat integration options. As quality standards regarding the purity of ethyl lactate are very high, we continue to work with interested customers who express an interest in testing our samples. We expect to commercialize within one year. We intend to have the new technology implemented in the Netherlands facility first.
