The support study, published by European Commission in July, 2024, details cross-border investment needs and climate adaptation strategies for the TEN-T network which aims to develop a high-quality, efficient and sustainable transport infrastructure across the EU. The document highlights the importance of completing the core and extended core networks to enhance the EU's economy, growth and cohesion. It estimates an investment of around €71 billion to adapt the network to mid-century climate conditions and €866 billion for the completion of the core networks. The study underscores the varying levels of vulnerability and preparedness among Member States to cope with climate extremes.
