The Eurobarometer survey, commissioned by the European Commission and released in July 2024, investigates EU citizens’ evolving attitudes toward digitalization compared to previous surveys. It covers citizens’ perceptions and expectations regarding future use of digital technologies in daily life, support for the Digital Decade policy program, and digital rights and principles. Key findings include 73% of Europeans feeling digital services ease their lives, while 23% find them challenging. Looking ahead to 2030, over 80% of respondents believe digital technologies will be crucial for online connections and accessing public services. The survey also highlights concerns about personal data misuse (46%) and fake news (45%) as impactful issues related to online platforms.
