The Sustainable Tourism Partnership, part of the Urban Agenda for the EU, released a Draft Action Plan consultation report in November 2024. This report summarises stakeholder feedback and proposed revisions to the Action Plan, ensuring it aligns with the priorities of stakeholders at local, regional, and national levels. The goal is to address the needs and priorities of a diverse range of stakeholders, including public authorities, research institutions, DMOs, private organisations related to the tourism sector, and EU institutions, while supporting broader objectives of urban sustainability and tourism development in Europe. The report outlines five key actions focused on digital technology integration, environmental sustainability, and enhancing destination resilience and accessibility. Launched in December 2022, the Sustainable Tourism Partnership brings together 29 members, including 9 cities, 3 regions, and 1 national authority, to tackle the pressing challenges of tourism development.
