The report, published by the World Travel & Tourism Council in September 2024, analyses social trends in travel and tourism employment. It highlights the significant impact of COVID-19 on the industry, noting a sharp decline in employment across 185 countries and seven sectors from 2019 to 2022. It also emphasises the recovery and growth opportunities, particularly in youth and female employment, and high-wage jobs. The findings underscore the critical role of travel and tourism in driving economic and social progress globally.
