The EU Regulation 1177/2010 establishes the rights of passengers traveling by sea and inland waterways within the EU. It ensures that passengers, including those with disabilities or reduced mobility, have the right to information, assistance, and compensation in cases of delays or cancellations. Key provisions include reimbursement or rerouting for delays over 90 minutes, assistance such as meals and accommodation for up to three nights, and compensation ranging from 25% to 50% of the ticket price for significant delays or cancellations. This regulation aligns passenger rights for sea and inland waterway travel with those for air, rail, bus, and coach travel within the EU.
