The European Union’s REACH Regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) establishes a comprehensive framework for managing chemicals to ensure human health and environmental protection. It applies to all chemical substances manufactured or imported into the EU in quantities over one tonne per year, covering uses in industrial processes, consumer products, and materials.

REACH requires companies to assess and manage risks linked to the substances they produce or market in the EU. It includes obligations for registration, safety data sharing, authorisation of substances of very high concern, and restrictions on hazardous chemicals.
