Between 10 and 14 March 2025, Barcelona tested a driverless electric bus offering free rides in the city centre. Locals and tourists could board the vehicle along a 2.2 km route with four stops. The trial aimed to assess the bus’s performance and introduce commuters to autonomous transport. This initiative, led by Renault and WeRide, seeks to advance automated public transport solutions in Europe, targeting Level 4 autonomy.

For more details on the initiative, follow the link on the left-hand side of the platform to access the Travel Tomorrow post released on 17 March 2025.
