On 14th November 2024, the European Commission announced that Booking Holdings Inc. must now comply with all the obligations of the Digital Markets Act (DMA). This requires Booking.com to follow new rules, such as banning 'parity' clauses, allowing hotels to offer different prices on their own sites, preventing similar restrictive measures with the same effect as 'parity' clauses, providing real-time data access to hotels and travel services, and enabling business users to transfer their data to other platforms. The European Commission will review Booking's compliance through a detailed report and stakeholder input.
