The European Commission has announced the launch of a new European Partnership dedicated to circular and sustainable textiles, under the Horizon Europe programme. This initiative brings together public and private stakeholders to support innovation and promote more sustainable practices within the textile sector.
The partnership will focus on transforming the textiles industry by supporting circular design, sustainable production methods, and new business models aligned with the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles. It aims to create a greener, more resilient value chain, while boosting Europe’s industrial competitiveness.
Co-funded by the European Commission and private partners, the partnership is expected to mobilise up to €480 million in investments between 2025 and 2030. It is one of three newly launched partnerships, alongside initiatives on advanced materials and photovoltaics.
As the partnership takes shape, it is set to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and accelerate Europe’s transition to a more circular, innovative, and climate-neutral economy.
