According to the latest data from the Central Bureau of Statistics in the Netherlands, CO2 emissions per capita have been consistently declining since 2019, dropping from 10.4 kg to 8.3 kg in 2023, marking a 25.4% reduction. Additionally, particulate emissions decreased from 23.8 micrograms per cubic meter in 2019 to 18.4 micrograms per cubic meter in 2022. Despite these improvements, air quality has worsened over the years. However, there has been an increase in the use of renewable energy and the number of certified sustainable accommodations.
