Gypsum-based solutions have a crucial role to play in decarbonising the building stock, due to their low embodied carbon and integration into energy efficiency systems. Furthermore, the European gypsum industry is committed to drastically reducing its emissions and helping the European Union to meet its climate neutrality objectives by 2050. Efforts are needed, and our ability to achieve net-zero emissions requires a contribution from all actors along the gypsum value chain.

The Eurogypsum roadmap "Towards Climate Neutrality with Gypsum" maps out the potential for further emission reductions along the production of gypsum-based solutions, enabling technologies and policies to facilitate the decarbonisation of the value chain, as well as contribute to a decarbonised building stock.

In close cooperation with Eurogypsum's member associations and companies active in the gypsum sector, progress with the implementation of the Eurogypsum roadmap will be encouraged and monitored regularly. Periodic reviews and follow-up actions will be planned shortly.

Block 3: Enabling Framework
