Actions to take:
ECF commits to coordinate the transnational development of EuroVelo, the European cycle route network of +92,000 km in 38 countries, including 17 EuroVelo routes, as a high quality cycle route network, which is well-connected to national, regional and local cycle route networks and other sustainable modes of transport, driving further increases in everyday cycling and cycling tourism. The realisation of the network will help support the development of sustainable tourism mobility across the EU, especially when combined with public transport, and bring economic, environmental and social benefits for citizens and destinations alike.

ECF is supporting an increase in the number of cyclists using public transport in combination with EuroVelo routes. As mentioned under 'Topic 2: Regulatory support for multimodal travelling', ECF will support the creation of better multimodal services along long-distance cycle routes, especially along EuroVelo routes, by: providing up-to-date guidelines and lobby for better multimodal services for cyclists; create more sophisticated transnationally relevant public transport information on EuroVelo.com; and partner with mobility service providers and other relevant stakeholders. We will use our communications channels and events as platforms to promote multimodal travelling involving bicycles.

ECF is promoting cycling in Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) to serve the needs of residents. Developed actions and infrastructures can also cater the needs of tourists.

Concrete actions:
- Publication of reference manual for development of EuroVelo and cycle routes
- Publication of the annual EuroVelo Development Status Report
- 2 Online workshops per year for the EuroVelo GIS Subgroup on quality cycle routes and data
- 12 EuroVelo newsletters a year to promote the network, its development and quality offers
- Sessions at the EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism Conference focusing on EuroVelo developments and/or multimodality between cycling and public transport

Targets:
- Annual report on EuroVelo Development Status: progress in cycle routes development with minimum +5% growth a year
- More offers to transport non-dismantled bicycles in long-distance trains.
- Higher satisfaction of users on multimodal travelling with a bicycle.
- More partnerships to provide guidelines and best practices on combination of public transport with bicycles
