Actions to take: 
ECF commits to promoting Cycling-friendly service schemes managed at a national or a regional level increasing the relevance for SMEs to join such schemes and develop quality services for cycling tourists. Cycling-friendly schemes support the green transition of SMEs, especially accommodation providers and encourage them to develop their accessibility to active modes users. ECF commits to provide European relevant information about existing initiatives, best practices and recommendations (via the methodology to assess the quality of long-distance cycle routes ‘European Certification Standard’ for example) when appropriate. In 2024, 28 national and regional Cycling-friendly service schemes are identified on EuroVelo.com: https://en.eurovelo.com/cycling-friendly-schemes  

ECF commits to provide content for cycling tourism professionals on its website (https://pro.eurovelo.com/) and social media channels to encourage best practices, knowledge sharing and solutions to be identified for the green transition of SMEs. Free accessible resources are already available as well as regular news articles and monthly newsletter with professional oriented content.

ECF also commits to support the development of cycling tour operators by promoting bookable offers on its website, developing more data on trends and dynamics (online survey launched in 2024 with CycleSummit and ATTA), and providing professional resources and content on its website and its annual event ‘EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism Conference’.

- More SMEs being part of a Cycling-Friendly Service Schemes if figures can be collected
