On April 21, 2023, the Ministry of Tourism unveiled Italy’s national tourism strategic development plan for 2023-2027, aiming to enhance economic and social growth by utilizing local resources and promoting lesser-known destinations. This plan is structured around five key pillars designed to enhance the sector’s competitiveness: governance, innovation, quality and inclusion, training and professional careers in tourism, and sustainability. It delineates the objectives and sectoral focus areas for tourism development in Italy, encompassing organized tourism, trade fairs and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), accessibility and tourist mobility, wellness, cultural tourism, accommodation facilities, leisure tourism, and high-end tourism. The strategic document is attached for further exploration. (The original piece available only in Italian)
