The declaration of Palma, published in 2023, focuses on advancing social sustainability in EU tourism. The key points are sustainable tourism model, focusing on creating a greener, more digital, inclusive and resilient model which will benefit local populations, support for member states in enhancing competitive, high-quality and sustainable tourism, social sustainability including cultural values and balanced distribution, data sharing in common European data space for tourism, and inclusive tourism by developing equal opportunities for all.
