The project, funded by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency, aims to establish a new Alpine rail connection between Lyon and Turin, enhancing sustainable transport and reducing travel time. Coordinated by Tunnel Euralpin Lyon Turin, it focuses on constructing a base tunnel and improving existing infrastructure. Running from January 2014 to June 2026, expected outcomes include increased rail capacity, reduced environmental impact, and strengthened economic ties between France and Italy.
