The VERNE project is dedicated to transforming the European tourism sector by shifting from linear to sustainable and circular models in local and regional destinations. It aims to develop an integrated framework to assess the feasibility and impact of circular interventions, offering tailored recommendations for authorities, tourism industries, and citizens. By collaborating with various stakeholders, VERNE will create and implement scalable solutions, such as digital innovations and improved waste management, across five European pilot destinations. Ultimately, VERNE seeks to establish itself as a comprehensive hub for sustainable tourism, promoting best practices and facilitating the widespread adoption of circular solutions across Europe.
