Both the Fundació Barcelona Comerc and KUDA will be developing and overseeing the deployment of the Business Service Design strategy (BSD) to help small local retailers adapt their offering to the Retail Embassies opportunity, and help retail model innovation achieve new hires. Because one of the biggest issues with local retail are unipersonal retail spaces (one man shops), the Retail Embassies model is foreseeing to create and develop sales associate apprenticeships certificates along with relevant trade unions and guilds, so the local retailer can split and overcome the barriers and fears to new hires.

2030 Targets

  • Create at least 40 new local retail outlet spaces throughout Barcelona with 5 embassies helping at least 100 local and social retail operators.
  • Help incorporate 100 new retail related job positions every year with diverse social background by fostering and designing specific retail related (sales associate, logistics manager, digital transition managers) job descriptions to be implemented along the Retail Embassies.
