The Retail Embassies model is designed to address the capacity and skills gap by being a platform where:

  • The Fundació Barcelona Comerc settles the intelligence and supervises the real and dormant needs in capacities and skills gap by monitoring the need of local retailers in real time, in association with the per district and retail axis.
  • KUDA! Develops the business Service Design proposition on addressing this skills and capacity gap, incorporating innovative detection and design tools such as the perception chain and RDD process (Retail Destination Design system).

2030 Targets

  • Increase the penetration of digital retail logistics, management and sales procedures (digital shop back office) to 100% of the participants of the retail embassies initiative.
  • 100% of all local retailers invested on Retail Embassies will be using a local retail payment, logistics and inventory management platform to digitally manage the retail outlet, addressing the increasing digital capacity and skills gaps on small local retailers.
