The cart integrates a smart scale for fresh produce, automatically weighing and identifying fruit and vegetables, alongside location-based sensors enabling targeted, in-store promotions. Following the award, Colruyt has continued rolling the concept out to additional stores beyond the initial pilot in Halle.

The case adds to a broader shift toward moving checkout into the shopping journey itself, potentially reducing both queuing time and fixed checkout staffing needs.
