The EU Organic Awards are a flagship initiative of the European Commission's Action Plan for the Development of Organic Production, aiming to recognise excellence across the organic value chain. These awards highlight innovative, sustainable, and inspiring projects that add real value to organic production and consumption within the European Union.

The 2025 edition marks the fourth year of the awards and will culminate in an official award ceremony on EU Organic Day, 23 September 2025, at the Berlaymont building in Brussels. The event will be attended by representatives from the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of the EU, the European Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions, COPA-COGECA, and IFOAM Organics Europe. Winners will have the opportunity to present their projects to a wider public and policy audience. Award categories include:

  • Best organic farmer (female)
  • Best organic farmer (male)
  • Best organic region/bio-district
  • Best organic city
  • Best organic food processing SME
  • Best organic food retailer
  • Best organic restaurant/food service

Entries were assessed on excellence, innovativeness, sustainability (environmental, social, and economic), and transferability. Eligible projects had to contribute to the affordability and accessibility of organic products in the EU and be based within an EU Member State.

The awards support the European Green Deal objectives by showcasing projects that strengthen the organic sector and encourage its replication across Europe.
