We are excited to announce a new chapter! The second edition of the European Capitals of Small Retail (ECoSR) has officially been launched. We are inviting cities across Europe to step forward and demonstrate how they support small retailers, revitalise their city centres and strengthen their communities.
Launched as a European Union initiative proposed by the European Parliament and implemented by the European Commission, ECoSR continues to highlight cities that are actively shaping the future of small retail.
Key dates:
- 11 May 2026: Launch of the competition for European Capitals of Small Retail 2027
- 8 June 2026, 11:00-12:30 CET: Info session I - Introduction to the European Capitals of Small Retail 2027 awards - How to prepare a successful application
- 10 September 2026, 11:00-12:30 CET: Info session II - European Capitals of Small Retail 2027 - How to prepare a successful application - Questions and Answers
- 9 October 2026: Deadline for applications
- Early November 2026: Announcement of the nine shortlisted cities
- Early 2027: Shortlisted cities present their candidatures at the Award Ceremony event in Brussels and three winning cities are selected
